AS1790

If You Are Multi-homed to Sprint

The Autonomous System 1790 is reserved for use exclusively by those customers that do not currently have another Internet Service Provider, and currently have, or are in the process of implementing, multiple connections utilizing the same IP space (multi-homed neworks) into the SprintLink backbone, via a dedicated IP Private Line. To utilize AS 1790, please contact your account team for ordering information.

Customers may at no time obtain another Network Service Provider utilizing this Autonomous System (AS), nor may they allow this AS to be announced in any way, as originating from another Network Service Provider. Failure to conform to this may result in immediate loss of BGP connectivity through SprintLink, and possible termination of service, until the given customer has obtained their own Autonomous System number, and work to have this implemented on ALL existing Internet connections, both within SprintLink and with any other provider they obtain access from. The customer must furthermore provide Sprint with advanced notice of any other Network Service Provider that said customer will use, and must obtain their own AS number to use for new, as well as all existing, Internet Access circuits, before the other provider may begin to configure BGP4 for that customer.

AT NO TIME MAY AS 1790 BE USED FOR BGP ROUTE ANNOUNCEMENTS ON ANY INTERNET CONNECTIVITY OTHER THAN SPRINTLINK.

All standard SprintLink BGP4 policies are enforced in addition to the above said requirements. By obtaining BGP4 routing through SprintLink utilizing the 1790 AS, the customer understands and promises to adhere to all policies stated above, and understands that failure to comply with the above requirements may result in loss of routability/connectivity via SprintLink. The customer also understands that the Autonomous System 1790 is owned by Sprint, and and is non-portable. NO customer may retain the autonomous system 1790 if they should leave Sprint as a service provider, or if they obtain internet connectivity through any other means besides SprintLink. Sprint reserves the right to optimize the Autonomous System 1790 with an advanced announcement to customers affected by said optimization.
